Product Development/Warehouse Laborer - Seedway - Bakersfield, CA

The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed.
Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Position will perform warehouse operation and support of product development of small plot program
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist in organizing and planting Trial Plots.
Assist with harvesting crops.
Assist product managers with collecting trial data
Equipment maintenance.
Manages incoming and outgoing inventory.
Performs labeling of inventory.
Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Pull correct bulk seed for work orders.
Maintain an organized and safe work area.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOTpolicies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1 or more years of retail related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of basic business principals of inventory management and mechanics.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record.
Frequently required to lift up to 100 lbs.
as needed and operate a forklift when required.
Will be required to work hours other than those considered normal to meet seasonal demands.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
