CAD Operator / Field Representative
Job Description:
This position will prepare drawings used in the layout and inspection of oil and gas fields, refineries, chemical plants and process piping systems using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
Collect, review, prepare and enter field data into data managements and record retention systems.
Dues may include verifying data, obtaining necessary information; record data.
May conduct oral, written, visual or performance testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems and machines.
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
Code information for entry into computers.
Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
Maintain records of applications made.
Update operational records using computer terminals.
Perform routine data entry and other office support activities, including creating, sorting, photocopying, distributing and filing documents.
Responsible for tracking and trending of data.
Upload data and create articles on web-based record retention system.
Able to perform all above duties out in the field and work under any weather conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/
Experience:
High school diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years work experience as a CAD Operator Isometric drawing experience within the oil & gas industry including tanks, pipes and vessels is preferred.
Minimum 25 - 30 WPM Touch-typing and 100KPM 10 key preferred.
Knowledge of traditional drafting techniques in order to fully understand and explain concepts.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all skill levels, excellent communication skills both verbal and written Strong mathematical skills; solving and evaluating basic algebraic equations.
Ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
