Parsons is expecting an award of work and will be hiring experienced Senior Electrical Engineers to support oil and gas projects in California. This position will be based on Bakersfield, CA.

This position will support the design functions on refurbishment and renovation of electrical equipment and systems associated with oil fields. The successful candidate will apply electrical engineering techniques and analyses and will work with electrical CAD designers to review drawings. Provide technical input on drawings and specifications suitable for electrical procurement and installation.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be issued directives from the client and apply electrical engineering skills to plans and prepare design layouts, details of various electrical equipment and systems, and assist in developing bid and contract documents. Development of electrical engineering packages compliant with the California Electrical Code and other applicable codes comprising of:
One-line diagrams
Three-line diagrams
Cable tray systems
Conduit/cable routing
Grounding
Lighting
Hazardous area classification plans per API RP 500
Cable/conduit schedules
Wiring diagrams and schematics
Develop scopes of work, prepare project schedules, manage budgets and provide weekly/monthly project status reports.
Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, MCCs, switchgear and variable frequency drives.
Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
Facilitate meetings between clients and vendors.
Travel to clients' offices and facilities for meetings and job walks.
Communicate with the Parsons office in Bakersfield to coordinate resources for projects to effectively fulfill the clients' expectations.
Requirements:
Minimum of 8
years overall experience in electrical engineering, with Significant design experience for oil and gas facilities with medium and low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and instrumentation systems.
Experience coordinating installation, site startup/commissioning.
Significant field experience in oil & gas facilities
Ability to communicate with clients effectively.
Working knowledge and hands on experience with power system analysis software tools such as ETAP and performing short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, device coordination, and arc flash analysis.
Working knowledge of applicable IEEE, ANSI, IEC requirements as well as applicable NFPA/NEC codes.
Proficient in AutoCAD and lighting software such as AGi32
Thorough knowledge of electrical building codes, testing methods, and safety practices.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university degree in Power Systems preferred.
PE license in California is preferred.
