Supervisory Social Worker (HUD-VASH)

As a Supervisory Social Worker for the HUD-VASH program, you will have significant personnel and administrative management responsibilities including responsibility for support staff, professional staff, and social work staff at the GS-11 grade and below in the Housing and Urban Development and VA Supporting Housing (HUD-VASH) program with Community Engagement and Reintegration Services (CERS). You will assist in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that all standards and performance measures associated with the program are met. You will ensure the development of individual or group goals and objectives in addition to monitoring, evaluating, coordinating, and overseeing the performance of staff. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Exercising supervisor authorities and responsibilities involving work assignments and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised. Reviewing and co-signing progress notes of new staff, if necessary, and contract social workers within appropriate time frames, and meeting with all social workers, as needed, regarding plans of care and documentation. Coordinating with the designated Public Health Authority (PHA) regarding housing voucher applications and award processes for each Veteran, and reviewing the agreements between Section 8 landlords, PHAs and the VA to establish appropriate referral sites for placements. Providing technical assistance to ensure the appropriate monitoring of activities, program reviews, and the development and analysis of information. Providing direct clinical services as required or needed. Providing coverage in the Emergency Department, when requested. Work Schedule:

A master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Licensure/Certification:
Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses in California, which administer its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation). Experience:
Knowledge of area homes resources, prior experience working with the Veteran population, and a valid drivers license are preferred. Grade Determinations:

Experience:
Must have at least two (2) years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior social workers have experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. Senior social workers are experts in their specialized area of practice, and may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty. In addition to the experience above, candidates must also demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. Knowledge of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments and quality improvement. Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services. Ability to provide staff training and development. Skill in interpersonal relationships dealing with employees, team leaders, and managers. References:

Social Worker Qualification Standard Physical Requirements:
Light lifting and carrying (under 15 lbs); operation of motor vehicle; near vision correctable at 13 to 16 to Jaeger 1 to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
